SRINAGAR: Police Crack Down on Immoral Activities, Arrest Six Individuals, Including Two Females, in Baramulla District
In a significant operation, the police in Baramulla district, Kashmir, successfully dismantled a prostitution racket, leading to the arrest of six individuals, including two females.
Acting on credible information received through reliable sources, the Baramulla Police initiated an investigation into immoral activities taking place in a rented house near the Bus Stand in Baramulla. Under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent Altaf Ahmad-JKPS and led by Inspector Vilayat Hussain, the police team swiftly took action to bust the prostitution ring.
The masterminds behind the illicit operation were identified as Lateef Ahmad Chechi, son of Mohammad Younis Chechi, hailing from Malangam Bandipora, and Altaf Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar, residing in Kralhar Baramulla. Additionally, Khurshid Ahmad Chechi, son of Abdul Rashid Chechi from Malangam Bandipora, and Manzoor Ahmad Khan, son of Saifuddin Khan from Qazi Hamam Baramulla, were also apprehended. The identities of the two female sex workers have been withheld for legal reasons.
A case has been registered under sections 3, 4, and 8 of the Illicit Trafficking Prevention Act, 2023, at the Baramulla Police Station, bearing FIR No. 136/2023.
