In a disheartening turn of events, the doctors at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu are still awaiting the receipt of their well-deserved COVID-19 Warrior incentives. Despite being at the forefront of the battle against the pandemic, risking their own lives and the lives of their loved ones, these dedicated healthcare professionals have not received the promised incentives even after almost two years.
The grant of financial incentives for COVID-19 Warriors of the Health and Medical Education Department was sanctioned based on a fixed rate mentioned in an order dated 04/05/2021 with the order number: 360-JKHME of 2021.

However, the doctors of GMC Jammu, as expressed by the Resident Doctors Association, have expressed their disappointment over the authorities’ lack of action in releasing their incentives despite their repeated efforts.
The Resident Doctors Association further highlighted that they have faced a consistent disregard for their demands, with the authorities turning a blind eye to their concerns time and again. Frustrated by this negligence, the doctors have expressed their intention to resort to protests to fight for their rights if their demands continue to be ignored.
The COVID-19 pandemic has placed an immense burden on healthcare professionals, with doctors and other medical personnel working tirelessly to save lives and ensure the well-being of the community. It is disheartening to witness the delay in providing the promised incentives to these frontline warriors who have selflessly served during these challenging times.
The doctors at GMC Jammu hope that the concerned authorities will take immediate action to address their grievances and fulfill their rightful entitlements. It is crucial to recognize the invaluable contributions of these healthcare professionals and provide them with the support and recognition they deserve for their unwavering dedication and sacrifices in the fight against COVID-19.
