Jammu, June 25: Following Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent public rally in Jammu, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit the city on Monday to attend the ‘Defence Conference’ at the General Zorawar Singh Auditorium at Jammu University.
Official sources confirmed that Singh will also meet with party leaders at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar. The meeting will encompass discussions on internal and external security issues, the current political landscape, and a visit to forward posts is also anticipated.
The Defence Minister will participate in the security conference at the General Zorawar Singh Auditorium at 11 am on Monday. The event will be attended by senior citizens, ex-servicemen, and members of the civil society. Singh will engage in various discussions with senior leaders, including BJP State President Ravinder Raina, at the party headquarters.
Meanwhile, Ravinder Raina, President of the Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party, informed reporters that the Defence Minister will address the security conclave. Approximately 1,500 special invitees, consisting of defence experts, retired Army officers, think tanks, advocates, senior media journalists, and scholars, will participate in the non-political event organized to highlight the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government over the past nine years.
Raina stated that the Defence Minister will outline the measures taken by the Modi-led government to strengthen India’s defence mechanism since assuming power in 2014. The conclave will be attended by defence experts, retired decorated army officers, academicians, doctors, think tanks, and youths.
He further mentioned that Singh will discuss security and other important matters with the participants, highlighting India’s strong position in defence and emphasizing the safety of citizens residing along the borders. Raina confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been finalized for the Defence Minister’s visit.
Following his address at the conclave, the minister will chair a meeting of senior BJP leaders at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar to review the current political situation and discuss organizational matters.
