Amit Shah Initiates Construction of ‘Balidaan Stambh’ in Srinagar with Foundation Stone Ceremony

Srinagar, June 24 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha marked a significant milestone in Srinagar as they laid the foundation stone for the ‘Balidaan Stambh’ (martyr’s memorial) at Pratap Park. The memorial, part of the Srinagar Smart City project, serves as a tribute to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Following the ceremony, Shah visited the LG’s official residence at Raj Bhavan and later paid a visit to Karan Mahal, the former residence of the last Yuvraj of Jammu and Kashmir, Karan Singh. Prior to his departure to Delhi, the Union minister also interacted with a selected group of individuals at the Police Golf Course, which offers a captivating view of the Dal Lake. Despite stringent security measures, the event proceeded smoothly with regular traffic flow and open shops in the vicinity.
