Students Participate Actively in Events Promoting Environmental Awareness
Jammu, June 5, 2023 – Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research (JIAR) marked the occasion of “World Environmental Day” on June 5, 2023, with a vibrant celebration held in the conference hall at 11:00 AM. The event, organized under the supervision of Dr. Prabhakar Shukla and Dr. Anamika Gupta from the Department of Dravyaguna, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, fostering a sense of environmental responsibility.
The program commenced with a ceremonial Deep Prajvalan and Dhanvantari Vandana, invoking the blessings of Lord Dhanvantari, the deity of Ayurveda. The theme for the event was “Beat Plastic Pollution,” aligning with the global call to address the pressing issue of plastic waste.
A highlight of the celebration was the poster display and slogan competition, where students showcased their creativity and knowledge on environmental conservation. The competition witnessed a vibrant display of artistic posters and thought-provoking slogans that aimed to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of plastic pollution on our planet.
Dr. Manu Sharma and Dr. Rachin Shivgotra from the Department of Kriya Sharir, along with Dr. Sukhdev from the Department of Kayachikitsa, served as the judges for the event. Their expertise and guidance ensured the fair evaluation of the participants’ efforts.
The students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the management and staff of JIAR for organizing such an informative and inspiring event. They acknowledged the institute’s commitment to nurturing a sense of environmental consciousness among the student community.
