Washington, Jun 2: Rahul Gandhi, during his US tour, expressed confidence that the BJP would be “decimated” in the next three-four assembly elections by the Congress. Speaking at a reception hosted by Indian American Frank Islam, Gandhi highlighted the basic requirements the Congress possesses to defeat the ruling party, which he believes lacks the support of the majority of the Indian population. He emphasized that the BJP’s dominance is not unstoppable and predicted tough times ahead for them in the upcoming assembly elections. Gandhi also pointed out the Indian media’s biased coverage favoring the BJP, stressing that a significant portion of the population does not support them. He further stated that he is convinced of the Congress’s ability to defeat the BJP and rebuild the democratic architecture. The assembly elections in five states and the crucial general elections in 2024 will shape the political landscape in the coming years.
