India Reports 267 New COVID-19 Cases, Active Infections Decline to 3,736 from 3,925

New Delhi, June 2: According to the latest update from the Union health ministry, India reported 267 new coronavirus infections. The number of active cases decreased from 3,925 to 3,736. The death toll has reached 5,31,874 with two additional fatalities.

The total COVID-19 case tally stands at 4.49 crore (4,49,91,143) as per the ministry’s data. Currently, active cases represent only 0.01 percent of the total infections, indicating a declining trend. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at a high of 98.81 percent.

Over 4,44,55,533 individuals have successfully recovered from the disease, while the case fatality rate remains at 1.18 percent. Notably, India has administered a remarkable total of 220.66 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines under the nationwide vaccination drive.
