New Delhi, May 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences for the lives lost in a tragic road accident in Jammu and announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of each deceased, along with Rs 50,000 for those injured. The accident occurred on Tuesday morning when a bus plunged into a deep gorge on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, resulting in the death of at least 10 individuals and leaving around 55 injured. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) tweeted, “Expressing grief on the bus accident in Jammu and Kashmir, PM @narendramodi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000.”
