New Delhi, May 31: India witnessed an increase of 310 fresh coronavirus cases in a single day, as per the latest data updated by the Union health ministry on Wednesday. The active cases have decreased to 4,222. The country’s COVID-19 death toll has risen to 5,31,870, with three additional fatalities, including one death reconciled by Kerala. The total infection tally now stands at 4.49 crore (4,49,90,588).
The active cases currently represent 0.01% of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at an impressive 98.81%, according to the health ministry website. The number of individuals who have successfully recuperated from the disease has surged to 4,44,54,496, and the case fatality rate is recorded at 1.18%.
In terms of vaccinations, the country has administered a total of 220.66 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine under the nationwide vaccination drive, as stated on the ministry’s website.
