Jammu, 26-05-2023: Four days after NPP President and former Minister Harsh Dev Singh was assaulted by Udhampur police, its now the BJP that has threatened to oppose and hold clashes with Panthers Party in case it holds protest in Udhampur. This was revealed by Mr. Gagan Pratap Singh Party Spokesman and General Secretary in a press conference today.
Mr. Gagan Pratap Singh said that a BJP leader of Udhampur named Rohit Sethi has given a interview to Veera Cable, a local channel and categorically announced that his team would counter the NPP protest if held in Udhampur and hold ‘clashes’ with the latter. “Intriguing to note that despite the open threat issued by the said leader which has gone viral on the social media, the district administration has failed to act. Alas! First it was the SHO Udhampur who not only restrained the NPP from holding a peaceful protest but also assaulted its leadership and now its the BJP leadership which is warning and threatening to ‘clash’ with its party workers in case they exercised their fundamental rights of holding processions or protests. Is it the last nail in the coffin of democracy? Where are the champions and other protagonists of democracy? And while no action has been taken against the police officers responsible for their extremely culpable barbarism against the NPP leader , the BJP goons have also been allowed to go scot free”, anguished Gagan said.
Asserting that rule of law had collapsed in Udhampur, Mr. Singh said that it was Goonda Raj of police and its henchmen that prevailed in Udhampur. He said that enjoying open patronage of the BJP leaders , the Udhampur Police was hell bent to demolish not only the opposition but all that the constitution stood for. He appealed the President of India and CJI of Supreme Court to take Suo Motto cognizance of the Jungle raj run by Police-BJP mafia.
Mr. Purshottam Parihar General Secretary was also present in the press conference.
