New Delhi, May 19 : India recorded 865 new coronavirus infections, leading to a decline in active cases from 10,179 to 9,092, according to the latest data updated by the Union Health Ministry on Friday.
The death toll has reached 5,31,818, with four deaths reported, including one reconciled by Kerala, as stated in the data updated at 8 am.
The total Covid case tally stands at 4.49 crore (4,49,84,923).
The active cases now constitute 0.02 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.79 percent, as per the ministry.
The number of individuals who have recovered from the disease has surged to 4,44,44,013, and the case fatality rate stands at 1.18 percent.
According to the ministry’s website, a total of 220.66 crore doses of the Covid vaccine have been administered in the country thus far, as part of the nationwide vaccination drive.
