J&K Police Releases Advisory to Beware of Suspicious ISD Numbers Ahead of G20 Meeting

J&K, May 19 : In preparation for the upcoming G20 Summit, the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Police has issued an advisory cautioning the public about certain suspicious international mobile phone numbers involved in spreading false information. The advisory specifically warns against responding to calls from the following numbers: +44 7520 693559, +447418343648, +44 7520 693134, +44 7418 343648, or any ISD number/virtual numbers linked to rumors regarding the G20 event.

The statement, released on Friday, emphasizes that these numbers are engaged in disseminating anti-national messages and propaganda. Vijay Kumar, ADGP Kashmir, urged the general public to remain vigilant and refrain from engaging with such suspicious calls.

Furthermore, the J&K Police encourages citizens to report any such calls to the authorities. The Cyber Police Kashmir has initiated an investigation into the matter. Individuals with grievances or queries related to this issue are advised to contact the Cyber Police station in Kashmir or the nearest Police Station.

By proactively addressing this potential misinformation threat, the J&K Police aims to maintain a secure environment for the upcoming G20 Summit and prevent the spread of false narratives that could disrupt the event.
