Rajouri, May 13: In a bid to ensure enhanced security measures in the wake of recent terrorist attacks, District Magistrate Vikas Kundal has issued a comprehensive ban on the use of firecrackers during marriage functions in Rajouri, a border district in India. The decision comes after the region witnessed several terror strikes, resulting in the loss of lives of both soldiers and civilians. Kundal emphasized that the noise generated by firecrackers can create confusion among the Army, Police, and security forces stationed in the area. Effective immediately, the ban encompasses the storage, sale, and utilization of firecrackers. The Senior Superintendent of Police reported that the indiscriminate bursting of firecrackers, particularly during nighttime functions, poses a potential risk by causing confusion among security forces and hampering their ability to respond promptly to a terrorist threat. Any violation of this order will be met with appropriate legal action under the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
