Jammu: Shiv Sena Hindustan in a press conference in Jammu today asked JKBOSE to stop fleecing by Private Schools which are charging the hefty amount from parents in the name of various fees. Addressing media persons in Jammu, Shiv Sena Hindustan J&K President Pt Rajesh Kesri said that he received several calls from those parents studying who complained of the issue. They said that the private school managements are taking the Government Fee Fixation Committee (GFFC) on a ride by not implementing its orders and directions pertaining to charging an annual fee.
Kesri said that for the past several days, complaints were being received from parents and students that private schools were charging exorbitant fee, books and other charges from parents ahead of admissions. He said schools were fleecing parents in the name of re-admission fee, annual charges, besides hiking the fee every session.
School authorities directed parents to purchase uniform and books from particular shops for which they get commission. Some schools provide books and stationery on the premises at exorbitant rates. They are not allowed to purchase these things from any other shop. This is loot,” Kesri said.He demanded from LG Administration to come up with a strict law to deal with the issue.
Kesri further said that different types of fees are taken from the children, due to which the parents of the children are very upset. Rising inflation has broken everyone’s back, due to which now parents cannot afford these unnecessary expenses of schools, because every year instead of admission fees from children, private schools are taking what is now called promotion fee, especially CBSE schools which take six months advance fees from the children and later torture the children in various ways to hide their sins.
Kesri quoting a recent example said that Principal of KC International Public School has suspended some children from the school by giving them red cards over some minor issues, the children have already given everything in advance are being forced to suffer unnecessarily. Questioning Principal of the school and Director, JKBOSE he said with what authority they have suspended students. Kesri appealed Divisional Commissioner to take cognizance of this and the school Principal must be punished for this so that the rest of the school may not dare to do such a inhumane act.
