44 COVID-19 fatalities and 7,533 fresh cases reported in India

New Delhi, Apr 28 : On April 28th, the Union Health Ministry of India reported 7,533 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases to 4.49 crore. Active cases decreased to 53,852, representing 0.12% of the total infections. The country’s COVID-19 recovery rate was reported at 98.69%, with 4,43,47,024 people having recovered from the disease. The death toll rose to 5,31,468, with 44 deaths reported, including 16 fatalities reconciled by Kerala. The case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18%. As per the ministry’s website, 220.66 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in India under the nationwide inoculation drive.
