Jammu, Apr 27: The strategic Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, which is the only all-weather road connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country, has been closed following a major landslide in Ramban district. The landslide occurred in the Shalgari area, leaving more than 300 vehicles stranded along the 270-km highway. Workers have been deployed to clear the area, but the incessant rain in the Ramban-Banihal sector is proving to be an obstacle. Officials have advised people not to travel on the highway without confirmation from traffic control units.
