India’s COVID-19 Cases Continue to Decline with 7,178 New Infections and Active Cases at 65,683

NEW DELHI, Apr 24: India records 7,178 new COVID-19 cases as active cases dip to 65,683, marking a decline after 69 days, reports the Union Health Ministry. The country’s death toll has reached 5,31,345 with 16 new deaths, including eight reconciled by Kerala. The daily positivity rate is at 9.16%, while the weekly positivity rate stands at 5.41%. The total Covid case tally has reached 4.48 crore. The active cases now comprise 0.15% of the total infections, and the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.67%, according to the ministry. Over 220.66 crore vaccine doses have been administered in India under the nationwide vaccination drive, as per the ministry’s website.
