Active Covid-19 cases in India rise to 63,562 as 10,542 new infections are reported.

NEW DELHI, Arp 19: On April 19th, according to updated data from the Union Health Ministry, India recorded 10,542 new Covid-19 infections, bringing the total case tally to 4.47 crore (4,48,45,401). The number of active cases rose to 63,562, accounting for 0.14% of the total infections. The death toll increased to 5,31,190 with 38 deaths, including 11 reconciled by Kerala. The daily positivity rate was reported to be 4.39%, and the weekly positivity rate was pegged at 5.1%. The national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.67%, with 4,42,50,649 people having recovered from the disease. The case fatality rate stood at 1.18%. Additionally, 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in India as part of the nationwide vaccination drive, according to the ministry’s website. (Agencies)
