Active Covid Cases in India Reach 60,313 with 9,111 New Infections Reported

NEW DELHI, Apr 17: India reports 9,111 new Covid-19 cases, active cases rise to 60,313 as per Union Health Ministry’s data updated on April 17. The death toll has also increased to 5,31,141 with 27 new deaths. Gujarat reported six deaths, while Uttar Pradesh reported four, Delhi and Rajasthan reported three each, Maharashtra reported two, and Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu each reported one death, with three reconciled by Kerala. The country’s Covid case tally stands at 4.47 crore (4,48,27,226), with a daily positivity rate of 8.40% and a weekly positivity rate of 4.94%. The national Covid-19 recovery rate is 98.68%, with 4,42,35,772 people having recovered from the disease. The case fatality rate stands at 1.19%. India has administered 220.66 crore doses of the Covid vaccine so far under the nationwide vaccination drive, according to the Ministry’s website. (Agencies)
