A series of skill enhancement workshops were organised by WC Foundation Trust under their project – PANKH , at the ITI centres in District Poonch and District Rajouri in the course of last two days ( 12th and 13th April ) . Understanding the gap between the skilled workforce and their self employment opportunities , the foundation gave away stitching units to various BPL beneficiaries at both these district . Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Chitvan Wazir ,the founder of the Foundation said that there is abundance of skill in our women folk across J&K but they lack employment opportunities . Hence the aim of the foundation is to not only enhance their skills but also to make them economically self sufficient and self reliant so that they not only support themselves and their families but also can form the support structure for other youth especially women around them . She also took the opportunity to thank district administration both at Rajouri and Poonch for their support in the initiative .
WC Foundation Trust has already launched Project Pankh in four districts of Kashmir before this and has helped provide entrepreneurial home set ups and employment to various needy women and youth in the valley . They have also taken up initiatives to encourage young kids to focus on their health by providing them with sports kits and giving them education opportunities , especially in Kashmir valley .
