J&K people badly upset over BJP’s betrayals: Rajesh Gupta

National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) Chief Rajesh Gupta on Thursday claimed that Jammu region has suffered a lot under present BJP regime and which will cost BJP seriously as and when assembly elections take place in J&K. “After 2014 Assembly elections, BJP is directly or indirectly running Government in the J&K and during this period and plunged J&K into unprecedented crisis”, Gupta said. He said that the BJP controlled Government has bulldozed the system of governance and eroded the sanctity of democratic institutions just to enjoy power.
The people of J&K will continue to reject the BJP in future for its anti-people policies; he added reiterating his demand for restoration of statehood. He said the BJP is deliberately delaying the Assembly polls in the Union Territory as it fears a backlash from the voters over its anti-people policies. “They know the people are angry with its policies and they have already got a taste of it,. The electorate of J&K are waiting for an opportunity to take this Government to task for its misdeeds”, the NDPI leader said.
Gupta observed that BJP has nothing to offer to the people of J&K except divert their attention through their divisive and diversionary mode of politics. He asked the people to reject BJP and the opportunistic forces dancing to the tune of the party for the sake of individual favor or lust of power. “I want to tell them that the voters of J&K are politically mature and cannot be misled by false slogans and promises”, he added.
NDPI president said that system of Governance has completely collapsed in J&K and the present regime was brazenly indulging in deceitful tactics by ignoring the real issue of governance. “The issue of governance has been pushed to the backburner and those who are at the helm of the affairs have been shamelessly indulging into nepotism and their misdeeds have badly shaken peoples’ faith in the system”, he said. “The BJP has nothing to show as its achievement”, he observed and added subverting democratic institutions are only noticeable achievements of this Government.
Gupta said that J&K has witnessed huge setbacks due to the revocation of statehood by the BJP Government including seizing of jobs, land, and the suppression of political and civil rights. He also castigated the Centre for remaining busy in rhetoric rather than doing work on ground. He said that the situation on ground zero in J&K is contrary to the claims of the BJP leadership over colossal development and lasting peace.
