NDPI is not against AED but the livelihood of people should not get affected: NDPI Chief

National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) Chief Rajesh Gupta on Saturday labeled the anti-encroachment drive as a new modus-operandi deployed by the Centre to suppress the people while interacting with media. Gupta maintained that NDPI was not against those who have grabbed State land but demanded “a proper procedure should be followed.” Gupta also shared his piece of advice claiming that the government should make the bulldozer its last resort and give people a chance to prove their claim and issue proper notices to the people having illegal possession of State land.
NDPI president said anyone who has done wrong, whether he is from BJP, Congress, NC, PDP or Apni Party, should face the law.” “Harassing the public or indulging in pick and choose will go against the government. It will create disharmony he said.” “Assembly elections have not taken place for a very long time, unemployment is on the rise and inflation has skyrocketed. We need to provide such an atmosphere where people can breathe easy but they are having sleepless nights in their own country,” NDPI leader said that the government should also make public a “genuine list of people who have occupied State land.” “It seems that the ongoing drive is aimed at creating a wedge between communities. This drive lacks proper procedure,” he
said. “Bulldozers are being sent everywhere to demolish houses, complexes and buildings. But nobody knows what is the procedure and on what basis this demolition drive is being conducted,” said Rajesh Gupta. “We are not against the government’s move to retrieve the land from land grabbers, but the livelihood of people should not get affected.” Gupta further added.
