Several urban habitations in Jammu are facing a habitual water problem since years. However the crisis has become worse in the last few days thus depriving people of basic drinking water facilities.
In a statement here today National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) Chief Rajesh Gupta said that the residents of Ward No 8 of Jammu East Assembly segment are worst sufferers. The local residents are very much suffering due to non-availability of water supply in the area for the more than five days. Gupta alleged that the people have no drop of water to cook food, wash cloths and utensils, and even for taking bath.
The NDPI leader strongly condemned the Jal Shakti Department for not showing serious concern towards the problems being faced by general public. Gupta said that it is highly condemnable on the part of the Government to take the issue of water scarcity callously knowing fully that this is the basic necessity constitute a matter of life and death for the people.
He added that the people of Jammu East Assembly segment are decrying for regular water supply and for the last five days the concerned department has deprived the people from drinking water supply & yet again proves the gross failure of the Modi’s so called “HAR GHAR NAL, HAR GHAR JAL” & BJP Govt which is misleading the people by making tall claims of its achievements.
NDPI president termed it unfortunate that people were being subjected to immense suffering for want of basic amenities like power and water in absence of popular government in Jammu and Kashmir & demanded that the water of Shitali Tube well should be supplied to the residents of Ward No 8 New Rehari, Dogra Hall Jammu.
