National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) has demanded early Assembly polls and restoration of Statehood in
J&K.
In a meeting NDPI J&K UT president, Rajesh Gupta said, “situation in J&K has worsened due to the steps taken
in 2019 and after it. “No matter how you evaluate it-economically, politically, or by any other metric-the
situation has worsened as a result of these unfortunate events. Additionally, there are no public
representatives, such as an MLA, Minister, or Chief Minister, because elections were not held. When there are
no doctors, teachers, or even employment, where will people go? Which door will they knock on?” he asked.
“And for that reason, everyone in the area, whether a young person or a laborer, is frustrated. Despite having
the best credentials, young people lack employment and turn to drugs,”. There is a complete governance
deficit,” he said.
NDPI Chief hit at central government for downgrading the historical state and snatching rights to land and jobs
besides trade and business opportunities at the cost of locals and said that Government has failed to achieve
any of the claimed benefits of Aug, 2019 decision. He said Jammu and Kashmir is deprived of democracy for
more than three and half years and there is total uncertainty about Assembly elections and restoration of
statehood despite commitment on the floor of the house by the PM and HM.
NDPI leader said NDPI stands guarrantee to peace, harmony, dignity, restoration of statehood and rights to land
and jobs. He claimed that in J&K, the administration has punished candidates who had qualified for various jobs
as corruption and malpractices prevailed here. However communal and divisive forces are the biggest enemies
of peace and harmony and overall development of the J&K UT and people must unitedly defeat such forces for
their better future.
Blaming present government for unprecedented price rise, huge taxations of all sorts, record unemployment
and an atmosphere of authoritarian rule, NDPI leader said that a bureaucratic rule can’t be substitute to
elected government, since they are not neither answerable nor approachable to the people.
Those who attended the meeting were Umesh Manhas, S. Kuljeet Singh, Tilakraj, Rajiv Luthra, Sandeep Anand
and others
