33rd senior national championship today inaugurated at MA Stadium Jammu. The championship is being organized by J&k Tennis Ball Cricket Association and sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council. Chief secretary sh. Arun kumar Mehta( IAS)
was the chief guest on the occasion.where secretary sports council Ms. Nuzhat gul was guest of honor , R. K Goyal and sh. Puneet were special guest on the occasion. More then 60 teams (1200 players)from jammu and Kashmir to kanya kumari participated in this mega championship . Today j&k men’s team deafeted Telangana by 72 runs
Speaking on the occasion, Arun kumar Mehta said that organizing such programmes always boosts the morale for youth for performing their duties with more zeal and zest and with more responsibilities.
Ms. Nuzhat gul in her address observed that sports not only help in developing physical and mental health, it also develops the life skills of a student’s personality.Director youth services and sports speaking on the occasion said that constructive use of time and discipline is a major characteristic of any sportsperson. On this occasion, Rajkumar Goyal said that sports not only keeps a person fit but also develops his brain. Participation in sports inculcates patience, restraint, hard work and team spirit in the youth, which will be useful for them in the future. Puneet Arora said that in order to stay away from drugs, the youth should actively participate in sports. Only sports can save the youth from getting trapped in the clutches of drugs.
