Social activist Rajkumar Goel has supported the Chenab pahadi Reservation Movement’s demand for restoration of RBA quota to 20 per cent besides including Reasi, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar districts in the pahadi reservation category areas at par with Poonch and Rajouri. Goyal said that all the districts of Chenab Valley and most parts of Reasi district are far away from development. There is a lack of education and basic facilities here, 99% of the people living in these districts are hilly. Till date no specific census or survey has been conducted focusing on Pahari speaking people and without any survey it is not proper to remove people from these remote areas from the list of Pahari reservation. There is a strong demand of the people of these 4 districts that they should be given all the benefits of hill reservation, but they are being denied by the government. He will leave no stone unturned to get it done.
