Bhadarwah: After struggling for decades, 160 households of hill top village Dhara in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bhadarwah to get potable water under Union Government’s ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ Scheme with a project cost of Rs 178.57 lakhs. DDC Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal along with Vice Chairperson Sangeeta Rani Bhagat kick started the work.
Har Ghar Jal is a scheme initiated by the Government of India in 2019 with the aim to provide tap water to every rural household by 2024 under Jal Jeevan Mission.

District Development Council Chairman Doda Dhananter Singh Kotwal along with Vice-Chairperson Sangeeta Bhagat inaugurated Dhar-Chobia Water Supply scheme under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) as PM’s Har Ghar Jal campaign.
The event was also graced by DDC Councillor Thakur Yudhvir Singh, BDC Chairperson Omi chand, ADC Bhadarwah Chowdhary Dilmir, XEN Jal Shakti department Doda, TO Jal Shakti Vibhag, local PRIs and general public of the area.
DDC Chairman Doda Dhananter Singh congratulated the public for commencement of work on this prestigious project. He thanked PM Narinder Modi, LG Manoj Sinha and Jal Shakti Vibhag for their support.

DDC Vice-Chairperson Doda Sangeeta Bhagat while expressing his happiness regarding inauguration of water supply scheme, which is 2nd in District Doda after Assar and first water supply scheme in Additional district Bhadarwah under JJM, informed that the Dhar-Chobia Water supply scheme has been inaugurated with estimated cost of Rs 178.57 lakhs and shall cater the water requirement of Dhara village and part of Chobia area.
Sangeeta also said that it was a long pending demand of public and finally the problem is being redressed. “more projects under JJM will be inaugurated across district Doda in coming days, ” Sangeeta added.

DDC councillor Thakur Yudhvir Singh, who is also native of Dhara villagers, said that in winters we have to suffer without water due heavy snowfall but after waiting since decades, our dream and struggle is finally going to be fulfilled as work on this project has been started.
"I am very thankful to Government, LG administration and Jal Shakti Vibhag for listening my pleas regarding water scarcity in our area and sanctioned project under JJM, " Thakur added.
The source of the WSS is Nandooni Nallah /spring running near village Dhara.
The water supply scheme shall have different components civil (Inlet tank, sedimentation tanks, service reservoirs, filtration plants) and laying and fitting of the pipes for gravity main and distribution system which shall provide 55 FHTC’s.
The WSS is expected to be completed during the current financial year 2022-23 and on its accomplishment water shall be provided quantatively and qualitatively to the public under scope.
