AI-Powered Systems Enhance Healthcare Access in J&K: LG Sinha

Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha inaugurated the new Centre of Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital at Qamarwari in Srinagar today, highlighting the critical role of AI-powered systems in enhancing healthcare in Jammu and Kashmir.

During the event, the Lieutenant Governor urged both the medical fraternity and hospital management to ensure that healthcare is both accessible and affordable for all citizens, especially those in rural and remote areas of the Union Territory.

“Over the past decade, modern technologies have fundamentally transformed the eye care field,” Sinha stated. “Today, it is offering faster and more accurate diagnoses with precise treatments.” He pointed out that these advancements have led to increased access to care in the health sector and the provision of personalized treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.

Sinha emphasized the importance of AI-powered systems, which enable healthcare professionals to detect early signs of diseases and eye problems. “Dr. Agarwals Eye Centre and other hospitals must leverage these technologies to ensure that residents of Jammu and Kashmir have access to the same quality of care as patients in major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai,” he urged.

The Lieutenant Governor acknowledged the significant transformation within Jammu and Kashmir’s healthcare landscape over the last few years. “Under the guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, we are committed to ensuring that every citizen has access to quality healthcare,” Sinha affirmed. He lauded the rapid expansion of both government and private healthcare facilities, which plays a vital role in fostering a healthy future for every resident.

Furthermore, he encouraged Dr. Agarwals Eye Centre and other medical institutions to organize free eye check-up camps throughout Jammu and Kashmir, focusing particularly on rural and border areas. He stressed the need for outreach through initiatives such as telemedicine, virtual consultations, and digital examinations to expand healthcare access.
