Omar Abdullah Condemns Brutal Killing of Migrant Worker in Shopian

Srinagar, Oct 19: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday condemned the killing of a non-local laborer, Ashok Chauhan, who was shot dead by unidentified militants in the Wandana Malhora area of Shopian district on Friday.

Calling the act “abhorrent,” the Chief Minister urged for strong condemnation of such violence and expressed his condolences to the victim’s family.

“Very sorry to hear about the death of Ashok Chauhan at the hands of militants in South Kashmir. These attacks are abhorrent and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. I send my condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased,” Omar Abdullah wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

The victim, originally from Banka district in Bihar, was shot in the neck, leading to his immediate death, according to senior police officials.
