NEW DELHI, June 27: Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda was appointed as the Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, marking the commencement of the 264th session of the Upper House. The announcement was made by Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in attendance, amidst enthusiastic applause.
Earlier, the BJP had formally communicated its decision to appoint Nadda as the leader of the House to the Rajya Sabha.
