Jammu, Jun 26 – Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General M V Suchindra Kumar visited Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district to review the region’s security situation.
Accompanied by General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 16 Corps Lieutenant General Navin Sachdeva and GOC Romeo Force, his visit holds significance in the wake of the recent terror attack on a bus carrying pilgrims on June 9.
In the attack, nine people, including seven pilgrims from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi, were killed, and 41 others were injured when terrorists opened fire on the bus as it returned from the Shiv Khori shrine near Teryath village in the Pouni area.
During his visit, the Army Commander, along with the GOC of White Knight Corps and Romeo Force, reviewed the security measures in place. He received a briefing on the prevailing security situation and the actions taken by the security forces, as stated by the Northern Command on X.
