Property of Alleged Terror Associate Attached by Police in Anantnag

SRINAGAR, June 13: In a significant development, police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district attached the property of an alleged terror associate on Thursday. The two-story residential house belonging to Riyaz Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Lohar Senzi Gadole, was executed under the provisions of Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, following confirmation from the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir.

According to police sources, the property attachment is connected to FIR No. 109/2023, registered under Sections 307 IPC, 3/4 Explosive Substances Act, and various sections of the UA(P) Act at Police Station Kokernag.

Highlighting the significance of this action, authorities underscored the commitment of the Anantnag Police to combat terrorism and disrupt the support structures facilitating such activities. By targeting the assets of terror associates, law enforcement aims to undermine their capacity to finance and facilitate terrorist operations in the region.

This move is part of ongoing efforts to counteract terrorism and dismantle its networks, reaffirming the resolve of security forces to ensure peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir. The attachment of properties associated with individuals involved in unlawful activities sends a strong message about the consequences of supporting or aiding terrorist organizations.
