JAMMU, June 10: Jammu & Kashmir Traffic Police announced on Monday that traffic movement between Nashri and Banihal during the night of June 11 and 12 will be suspended due to urgent maintenance work.
They stated that due to repair work, no vehicles, including fresh perishable or livestock transport, will be permitted on NH44 after 6 pm from Qazigund towards Ramban on June 11. Similarly, vehicular movement will be halted from Nagrota (Jammu) after 5 pm and from Udhampur after 6 pm. Commuters are strongly advised to avoid travel on the highway until the maintenance work is completed.
“As intimated by NHAI, urgent maintenance/repair work has to be carried out on NH44 between Nashri and Banihal during the intervening night of June 11/12, 2024. All types of vehicular movement will remain suspended during this period,” stated traffic officials.
They reiterated, “No movement of any kind of vehicle including fresh perishable/livestock will be allowed on NH44 on June 11, 2024 (Tuesday) after 6 pm from Qazigund towards Ramban. Similarly, no vehicular movement will be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) after 5 pm and from Udhampur after 6 pm.”
Commuters are urged to plan their journeys accordingly and refrain from traveling on NH44 until the maintenance work is completed.
