Srinagar, June 6: In response to the posting of sensitive content against religious sentiments at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir V K Birdi has assured strict action against those involved.
Addressing the issue at PCR Srinagar, IGP Birdi emphasized the J&K police’s respect for all religions and communities, urging the public not to succumb to rumors that could disrupt law and order.
A criminal case has been registered under sections 153, 153 A, 295 A, 505 (2) IPC at police station Karanagar on June 6, 2024, following the incident at GMC Srinagar.
The police have urged the public to refrain from spreading false information and to avoid falling prey to anti-social propaganda. Legal action will be taken against those found instigating provocative acts.
