NC, BJP Lead in Two Seats Each in J&K; Er Rashid Ahead in Baramulla

Srinagar, June 4: As the counting of votes for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls continues, the National Conference (NC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are leading in two seats each in Jammu and Kashmir, according to early results.

Data released by the Chief Election Officer of J&K indicates that the NC is ahead in the Srinagar and Anantnag-Rajouri constituencies, while the BJP leads in the Jammu and Udhampur seats.

In the Jammu constituency, BJP’s Jugal Kishore Sharma is leading against Congress candidate Raman Bhalla, and Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh is ahead of Congress’s Choudhary Lal Singh in Udhampur.

In Baramulla, independent candidate Er Rashid is leading against National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah, with People’s Conference chairman Sajad Lone in the third position.

Additionally, NC’s Main Altaf is leading against People’s Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti in Anantnag-Rajouri, while NC’s Aga Ruhullah is ahead of PDP’s Waheed Para.

These early trends highlight a competitive race in J&K as the counting progresses.
