INDIA Bloc Leaders Set to Convene on June 1 to Review Lok Sabha Election Performance

NEW DELHI, May 27: Top leaders of the opposition INDIA bloc are expected to meet on June 1 to evaluate their performance in the Lok Sabha elections and strategize ahead of the results. Sources indicate that the meeting will be held in Delhi in the afternoon, coinciding with the final phase of polling.

The opposition leaders plan to discuss their strategies before the results are announced on June 4 and to assess their performance throughout the seven-phase elections. The INDIA bloc has expressed confidence in its ability to prevent the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) from securing another term and aims to form its own government.

Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge has convened the meeting, according to sources. Meanwhile, the ruling alliance, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is also confident of forming the government at the Centre for a third consecutive term following these elections.

The INDIA bloc comprises twenty-eight opposition parties, though some, such as Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) and the Rashtriya Lok Dal, have since joined the NDA. The upcoming meeting will be crucial for the opposition alliance as they prepare for the election results and the potential political landscape that follows.
