SRINAGAR, May 24: The inaugural edition of the Marvel Hockey Tournament commenced today at the Astro Turf Hockey Playfield, Polo Ground, marking the beginning of a promising sporting spectacle in the region.
Organized by Hockey J&K and generously sponsored by Marvel Technology and Charzan Holidays, the tournament was inaugurated amidst fervor and enthusiasm. President of Hockey J&K, Gurdeep Singh Sangral, graced the occasion as the chief guest, accompanied by distinguished guests including Rafiq Munshi, Executive Member of Hockey J&K, and other dignitaries such as Avtar Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Mohd Ameen, Raja Abbas, and technical staff from J&K police.
The inaugural match witnessed a showdown between Badal Hockey Club and Meadows Hockey Club, captivating spectators with an exhilarating display of skill and sportsmanship. Ultimately, Badal Hockey Club emerged victorious with a commendable 3-1 triumph, setting the tone for an electrifying tournament.
In the subsequent clash, Barzulla Hockey Club squared off against Young Star Hockey Club in a fiercely contested encounter. Despite a valiant effort from Barzulla Hockey Club, it was Young Star Hockey Club who clinched a narrow victory, prevailing with a scoreline of 3-2.
