New Delhi, May 25: In a fervent appeal to the electorate, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi emphasized the rejection of falsehoods and divisiveness, urging citizens to prioritize real issues affecting their lives as they head to the polls for the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections today.
Addressing the significance of voter participation, Gandhi, accompanied by his mother and former Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, cast their votes at a polling booth in New Delhi, underscoring their commitment to the democratic process.
“In the first five phases of voting, you have rejected lies, hatred, and propaganda, prioritizing grassroots issues that resonate with your daily lives,” Gandhi stated in a heartfelt message shared in Hindi on social media.
Highlighting key electoral promises, Gandhi outlined the transformative potential of each vote, envisioning a future where 30 lakh vacant government posts are filled, accompanied by the launch of a first job guarantee scheme offering Rs 1 lakh per year for youth. Additionally, he advocated for financial empowerment, with Rs 8,500 monthly allocations for women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and the eradication of farmer debt, ensuring fair Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for crops.
“Your vote holds the power not only to uplift your own circumstances but also to safeguard democracy and uphold the Constitution,” Gandhi affirmed, emphasizing the broader implications of civic participation.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the democratic process, Gandhi called upon citizens to exercise their franchise responsibly, urging them to vote for their rights and the prosperity of future generations.
“As we partake in this grand festival of democracy, let us unite in our resolve to shape a better tomorrow for ourselves and our families,” Gandhi concluded, rallying citizens to make their voices heard at the ballot box.
As polling stations across the nation buzz with activity, the fate of India’s democratic future hangs in the balance, awaiting the collective verdict of its conscientious citizens.
