Ramban: With an aim to channelize the energy of youths towards sports activities and encourage them for healthy lifestyle, Range Police Headquarters Batote organized two days Volleyball Tournament in Ramban’s Banihal under Civic Action Programme, which concluded here with the final match and valedictory function.
The tournament was held at Government Higher Secondary School Banihal under the direction of DIG DKR Range Shridhar Patil and supervision of SSP Ramban Anuj Kumar, in which total 8 teams participated.

On the closing ceremony, SSP Ramban Anuj Kumar was the chief guest, who encouraged players for their outstanding sports skills.
Principal Government Higher Secondary School Banihal Abdul Rashid, SHO Banihal Ashiq Bukhari, Ex Sarpanch Ilyas Banihali, school student and staff were also present on the occasion.
After defeating their rivals, the final match was played between Volleyball club Khari and Volleyball Club Neel which was won by Neel Club with straight 3 sets with the margin of 24/20, 24/17 and 24/21.

The winners were awarded with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and the runners-up team was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 7000 along with trophies and certificates.

On behalf of the Deputy Inspector General of Police DKR Range Shridhar Patil-IPS, the chief guest advised the youth to work hard for future career.
SSP Ramban said that our mission is to provide a best platform to youths where they can showcase their skills and talent in a big way. “Such type of sporting events to connect with the Youths will be continued in future as well.”

“Such type of events provide platforms to keep the younger generation away from the scourge of Drugs Addiction, Anti-social/Anti-national Acts. This type of sporting activity is constructive engagements with the youth to make society a better place for the younger generation and to explore their hidden talents, “SSP added.
The participating youth commended the efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in organizing such events and expressed gratitude for promoting sports activities in the area.
Such kind of initiatives by the Police Department under civic action programme aimed at to strengthen relations and understanding between the police and the general public, fostering trust and a better relationship.
Participants appreciated this step and hoped for the continuation of such innovative community partnership programs in the future as well.
