Srinagar, Apr 25: National Conference President Farooq Abdullah made strong allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, asserting that Modi’s recent speech in Rajasthan targeting Muslims has deeply concerned him. Speaking at the party headquarters in Srinagar, Abdullah expressed his dismay over Modi’s divisive rhetoric and emphasized the importance of the Prime Minister safeguarding the rights of all citizens under the nation’s constitution.
Abdullah, who was addressing party workers while supporting the nomination of Aga Ruhullah for the Srinagar Lok Sabha seat, stressed that regardless of political affiliations, the Prime Minister holds the responsibility of treating all citizens equally, without discrimination based on religion, ethnicity, or any other factor.
Expressing disappointment with Modi’s speech, Abdullah accused him of attempting to sow division within the country. He reiterated the inclusive nature of the INDIA alliance, emphasizing its commitment to preserving the nation’s secular identity and the constitutional principles laid down by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
Recalling a visit by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to Kashmir amidst challenging weather conditions, Abdullah highlighted the alliance’s dedication to addressing the concerns and hardships faced by the people of Kashmir.
In conclusion, Abdullah expressed confidence in the INDIA alliance’s ability to secure victory in Delhi and uphold the ideals enshrined in Dr. Ambedkar’s constitution.
