New Delhi : Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized on Saturday that the BJP utilized the full majority granted by the people in the 2014 and 2019 elections to undertake significant initiatives such as abolishing Article 370, constructing the Ram Mandir, implementing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), and granting 33% reservation to women in Lok Sabha and state assemblies.
Speaking at the Vijay Sankalp Mahasammelan, Shah expressed gratitude to the electorate, stating, “You gave us full majority in 2014 and 2019, we used the majority to abolish 370, build the temple at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, implement CAA and give 33% reservation to women in Lok Sabha and Assemblies.”
Shah also highlighted the difference in governance, citing examples like the Eastern Rajasthan Canal project, which saw progress after the BJP-led government took charge. He criticized Congress, asserting that they failed to develop the region during their tenure.
In response to Congress’s fearmongering about BJP’s projected electoral success, Shah countered their claims, pointing out the significant strides made in Rajasthan under BJP rule, including agricultural support, infrastructure development, and healthcare initiatives.
The second phase of elections in Rajasthan is scheduled for April 26, with subsequent phases to follow in May and June. In the 2019 elections, BJP secured a landslide victory in the state, winning 24 out of 25 seats, with the remaining one seat going to the Rashtriya Loktrantrik Party candidate, Hanuman Beniwal.
