Amit Shah Asserts: China Has Not Encroached ‘Single Inch’ of Land During Modi Government

Lakhimpur, April 9: Home Minister Amit Shah asserted during an election rally in Lakhimpur that China has not encroached “even a single inch” of land under the Narendra Modi government. Shah highlighted the alleged negligence of former PM Jawaharlal Nehru during the 1962 Chinese aggression, stating that Nehru had disregarded Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Shah credited the BJP-led government for securing the border with Bangladesh and halting infiltration.

Addressing the crowd, Shah emphasized the contrast between the past and present, claiming that the Modi government has effectively curbed infiltration, especially along Assam’s border with Bangladesh. He criticized the previous Congress government in Assam for failing to address the state’s issues adequately and lauded the peace accords signed under the Modi government, which resulted in the surrender of thousands of youths.

Shah highlighted the withdrawal of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act from 80 percent of Assam’s areas and the fulfillment of clauses in the Bodo Accord within two years. He criticized the Congress manifesto for allegedly favoring Muslim personal law, contrasting it with the efforts of Himanta Biswa Sarma to combat child marriages.

Furthermore, Shah stressed the importance of Northeast development for national growth and urged voters to choose NDA candidates across the region. He presented voters with the choice between supporting Rahul Gandhi and the INDI Alliance or backing the Modi-led BJP, urging them to secure a third term for the BJP-led government at the Centre.
