Dr. Jitendra Highlights Modi’s Focus on Gujjar Community’s Priority, Status, and Dignity

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, addressing a public rally in Kishtwar, emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in prioritizing and uplifting the Gujjar community in Jammu & Kashmir. Singh praised Modi for providing political reservation and dignity to the Gujjar community, contrasting it with past neglect by Congress-led governments.

Singh highlighted the transformative initiatives undertaken in Kishtwar, citing it as North India’s emerging power hub. He noted significant progress in the region over the past decade, particularly in power generation, with plans to generate around 6,000 MW of power from ongoing projects.

Among the major projects highlighted by Singh were Pakal Dul and Kiru Hydroelectric projects, with capacities of 1000 MW and 624 MW respectively. He also mentioned the revival of the Ratle project as a joint venture between the central government and the UT of J&K.

Singh emphasized the socio-economic benefits of these projects, providing employment opportunities and boosting the region’s development. He criticized past governments for neglecting Kishtwar’s infrastructure and educational needs, lauding Modi’s interventions in sanctioning projects like the Degree college for Paddar and improving road connectivity.

Furthermore, Singh highlighted advancements in connectivity, including the reduction of travel time from Jammu to Kishtwar and the establishment of an airport under the UDAAN Scheme. He also mentioned the development of new national highways, mobile towers, and educational institutions in the region.

Local leaders, including former Minister Sunil Sharma and BJP District President Chuni Lal, echoed Singh’s sentiments and emphasized the positive impact of Modi’s initiatives on Kishtwar’s development.
