New Delhi : According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Friday, India has reported 187 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The total caseload in the country has now reached 4,50,24,735, including cases of the JN.1 COVID-19 variant.
Among the new cases, Karnataka reported the highest with 76 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 40 cases and West Bengal with 18 cases. Two cases were reported in the national capital.
Unfortunately, one more person succumbed to the disease, bringing the total death toll to 5,33,443. The reported death was from Maharashtra.
On a positive note, 276 individuals recovered from the disease, contributing to a total recovery tally of 4,44,89,618.
Currently, there are 1,674 active cases in the country.
