New Delhi, Jan 26: Rahul Gandhi, former Congress president, emphasized on Friday that preserving the fundamental tenets of the Constitution is the true homage to our freedom fighters. In extending Republic Day wishes to fellow citizens, he underscored that the Constitution, embodying the aspirations of the freedom struggle, remains the essence of the Indian Republic.
“Our esteemed Constitution, a unifying force for the dreams of the freedom movement, stands as the soul of the Indian Republic. Safeguarding its fundamental principles and staying loyal to them is the genuine tribute to the immortal freedom fighters,” he conveyed in a Hindi post on X. Gandhi concluded with, “Best wishes to all the countrymen on Republic Day. Jai Hind.”
Echoing similar sentiments, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh urged fellow countrymen to uphold the fundamental principles of the Constitution. He stressed the collective responsibility to speak out against injustice and oppression, emphasizing the need to preserve the unity in diversity of the nation. Ramesh reaffirmed the commitment to protecting Baba Saheb’s Constitution and democracy on Republic Day.
“On this Republic Day, we reiterate our resolve to safeguard Baba Saheb’s Constitution and democracy. We will continue to raise our voice until we secure our right to justice,” declared the Congress leader.
