Mumbai, December 16: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Saturday that senior fast bowler Mohammed Shami will be sidelined from India’s two-match Test series against South Africa. Shami’s inclusion in the Test squad was contingent on his fitness, but the board’s medical team did not clear him for the series.
Additionally, pace-bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar has withdrawn from the ODI squad. Chahar cited a family medical emergency for his unavailability in the upcoming ODI series. The Men’s Selection Committee has consequently named pacer Akash Deep as his replacement, as stated in the BCCI’s official announcement.
