Multiple Incidents Result in Five Arrests with Weapons in Jammu and Kashmir

JAMMU, Dec 8: In Jammu and Kashmir, five individuals were apprehended in distinct incidents, each in possession of weapons, as reported by the police on Friday. Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid in the Ramgarh area of Samba district, resulting in the arrest of hardcore criminal Vivek Singh on Thursday night. The authorities seized a country-made pistol and a 12-bore gun from him. A case under the Arms Act was registered against Singh at Vijaypur police station. Notably, Singh had been previously arrested in 2018 in connection with a kidnapping and attempt to murder case.

In the second incident, police received information about individuals collecting royalties from the mining mafia at the cricket ground in Sum Toph, Phallian Mandal area. Responding promptly, a police team apprehended four individuals identified as Abhishek Singh, Ravi Singh, Harbax Singh, and Sachin Singh. Upon searching them, a sharp-edged weapon was discovered. A case under the Arms Act has been filed against them, and an ongoing investigation is in progress.
