Amit Shah Asserts Unstoppable Implementation of CAA at Kolkata Rally

Kolkata, November 29: Home Minister Amit Shah declared on Wednesday that the Citizenship (Amendment) Act will be implemented by the Central government, and no one can obstruct it.

Speaking at a major rally here to launch the party’s Lok Sabha campaign, Shah delivered a strong critique of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on the subjects of appeasement, infiltration, corruption, and political violence. He urged the people to oust her government and elect the BJP in the upcoming assembly polls.

Applauding the large turnout at the rally, Shah stated that it reflects the people’s sentiment and predicted that the BJP will secure a two-thirds majority in the state in 2026.

He emphasized that the BJP’s performance in the state in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls will lay the groundwork for its victory in the assembly polls.

Addressing the contentious CAA issue, Shah remarked that while Banerjee opposes it, no one can impede its implementation. The law has been in a state of limbo as the central government has yet to formulate its rules amidst strong opposition to the law.

Referring to the intended beneficiaries of the law, Shah asserted that they have an equal right to citizenship as anyone else.

Speaking at the rally at the historic Esplanade, Shah aimed to set the tone for the party’s Lok Sabha campaign in the state, where the BJP won 18 seats, its highest ever, out of the state’s 42 in 2019.
