Never play the politics of hatred and invoke religion for votes-DPAP chief

Bhaderwah, Oct 31: There is no role of religion in politics and had never play the politics of hatred and invoke religion for votes, former chief minister and Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad said this while addressing party workers from rural areas of Bhaderwah at Community Hall Kotli.

To listen the issues of public from party workers and leadership of Bhaderwah to strengthen the party at grassroot level, Chairman Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) along with other senior leaders addressed workers meetings at Bhaderwah during his week long tour of Ramban and Doda Districts.

Ghulam Mohd Saroori Vice Chairman, Abdul Majeed Wani Gen Secretary, Anita Thakur Gen Secretary, P.R.Manhas Zonal President, Prabha Salathia Mahila President, Javid Azad Zonal VP , Arif Najar Block President, Pritam Kotwal Provincial Secretary, Sheikh Zaffarullah Gen Secretary Zone Chenab, Krishan Singh Manhas, Mohd Ashraf Goni and others were also present on the occasion.

While welcoming Ghulam Nabi Azad and other senior leaders, Zonal Vice President Javed Azad, Block President Arif Najar and Zonal General Secretary Sheikh Zafarullah urged the party workers to reach out to all sections of the society with the vision of Ghulam Nabi Azad to secure the thumping win in the upcoming elections.

They said that the party is dedicated to serve the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and will continue to work tirelessly towards the betterment of every nook and corner of J&K.

While addressing Ghulam Nabi Azad said that I have restuned to regional politics only to complete the unfinished era development, which I have started as CM of J&K. “All projects were left midway after I left the office of Chief Minister,” Azad added.

DPAP cheif promised people that his politics would always be based on moral and social values and he would never discriminate among his people on the basis of religion. He said the foundation of DPAP is itself based on same principles since he believes in inclusiveness and equality and only promotes merit.

Azad said the era of developmental projects during my tenure as CM are itself advocating for my plurality since districts, colleges, hospitals and other developmental works he did in Jammu and Kashmir are actually benefiting all the human beings and not any particular community.

“When I was CM, no one labourer or meason or others were without work as I had started development works in double shift but now they are without work and are facing starvation,” he said, saying that today the polical leaders who get votes are not worried about it but my party is concerned about the miseries of people.

“I appeal all communities to come together to fight against injustice and discrimination, which we are facing,” Azad added, I believe that there is no space for religion in politics,” Azad added.He cautioned people to be alert from the parties who invoke religion for votes during elections.

The DPAP Chairman said he would never ever play the politics of hatred and invoke religion for votes.

“I came back to my people because I want to serve them and do whatever is required for the peace and progress of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

He said the DPAP is formed for the welfare of people and asked urged workers to focus on public meetings in their respective areas to reach out to all sections of the society.
