Srinagar, October 27: As Dilbag Singh approaches his superannuation at the end of this month, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has appointed the current Special DG of Jammu and Kashmir, R.R. Swain (IPS), to take on the additional responsibility as the Director General of Police (DGP). According to an official order released by the MHA, Swain, presently serving as Special DG of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), has been directed to assume the role of DGP from November 1.
The order states, “With the approval of the competent authority, Shri R.R. Swain, IPS, currently posted as Special DG of the CID in Jammu and Kashmir, will also serve as the in-charge Director General of Police, in addition to his existing responsibilities, effective from November 1, 2023, and until further notice.”
